start-up case studies

new identities from the ground up

startups

i helped logistics and fulfillment startup imprint genius create an entirely new brand.

I produced everything from a very simple voice + tone to get them started:

to writing a new website:

they liked the brand so much they made a little video to celebrate:

it was so fantastic to work with start-up clients that weren’t ready to advertise yet but still needed powerful brands that i did it again with cleared, simeon cloud, solid ratio, and many others.

most of these projects were undertaken with the marketing innovators at martian labs who specialize in start-ups. i initially helped build martian’s own brand, including writing them a mini-campaign about why start-ups should not hire them. it was fun, and all-together it led to us working together on 10 or so start-ups across the tech, biotech, cybersecurity, and food and beverage spaces.

food and beverage, etc.

while i’ve worked on a few different f&b and liquor brands (jose cuervo, 1800 tequila, sambazon, etc) and even skincare (loved01), most relevant to start-ups were two completely new brands built from the group-up for spira (a biotech startup) and agrifiber (a start-up replacing inorganic, unhealthy food additives with natural, upcycled fibers).

agrifiber wanted something very clean and clear to reach the fortune 500 c-suites they sell to:

spira, who make dyes and food additives out of algae, wanted to tell a bolder story through their website:

all and all, i helped create a couple start-up brands in the space who had innovative products but needed a little help turning them into clear, compelling identities.
